Overview

The United States of America. Well, where to start. The image of the USA hasn't been very good lately. Starting wars all over the world, pulling the entire world into an economic downturn and of course the foolishness of electing Bush as president twice. These things have pretty much been the trademarks of this country. However, don't believe what people tell you. It's always best to see with your own eyes. So if you haven't been to the United States yet you should really take a look.

A bit of History

Britain's American colonies broke with the mother country in 1776. Remember the Boston Tea Party? These colonies were recognized as the new nation of the United States of America following the Treaty of Paris in 1783. During the following two centuries, 37 new states were added to the original 13 as the nation expanded across the North American continent and also added a few overseas territories such as Hawaii and Alaska. The two most traumatic experiences in the United States history were the Civil War (1861-65) and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Buoyed by victories in World Wars I and II and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the Unites States remain the world's most powerful nation. The economy is the largest in the world and is marked by steady growth, low unemployment rapid advances in technology.

How to Get There

The only nonstop flight between Thailand and the United States is the Thai Airways service to Los Angeles. Most other airlines also offer good connecting to cities on the West Coast. If you need to travel to some of the more remote cities in North America, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are the best choices.
