Myanmar Airways International (MAI)
Myanmar Airways
International is the
de-facto national airline of
Myanmar (Burma). They offer
daily flights between
Bangkok and Yangon. However,
this airline is controlled
by the ruling junta in
Myanmar therefore some
people call for a boycott of
this airline.
They have recently renewed
their fleet and their
in-flights service is pretty
OK for Myanmar standards.
Myanmar Airways
International is part of
IATA and has codeshare
agreements with
Malaysia Airlines
and
Thai
Airways. For some
of the more flexible fares
you can combine the flights
between Bangkok and Yangon
from Myanmar Airways
International and Thai
Airways. However,
several international
aviation safety bodies deem
Myanmar Airways
International unsafe.
