Special Airline Meals

 

Most airlines will serve you complementary food during your flights. The type of food depends on the length of your flight and the time of day. Generally you will be offered a selection of meals to choose from. However, you may also request a special meal in advance for you to enjoy on board. Please check the list below for a number of meals that may be available on your flight. Please note that not all meals are available on al airlines and/or all flights. The descriptions are given as an indication only.

 

Vegetarian

 

 

Asian Vegetarian Meal

Also known as vegetarian Hindu meal. Spicy vegetarian combinations with limited use of dairy products. Does not contain eggs, meat and meat products, fish, fowl and products with lard and gelatine.

 

 

 

Vegetarian Meal

Vegetarian meal (meatless meals, milk products may be included) Vegetarian food high in protein , along with dairy products eggs and vegetarian type of cheese.

 

 

 

Vegan Meal

Strict vegetarian foods. Does not contain products from animal sources, meat and meat products, fish, fowl and products with lard or gelatine, dairy products, eggs or honey.

 

 

 

Vegetarian Oriental Meal

VOML

 
 

Strict vegetarian foods. Does not contain products from animal sources, meat and meat products, fish, fowl and products with lard or gelatine, dairy products, eggs or honey.

 



Religious

 

 

Hindu Meal

HNML

 
 

Foods prepared according to Hindu customs and respecting Hindu dietary practices and beliefs. Does not contain beef, veal, pork, raw and smoked fish, but this is not a vegetarian meal.

 

 

 

Kosher Meal

KSML

 
 

Kosher Meals prepared according to Jewish dietary law and purchased from reputable manufacturers.

 

 

 

Muslim Meal

MOML

 
 

Foods chosen, prepared and served in accordance with Moslem dietary laws and customs. Does not contain pork or pig by-products, gelatine, alcohol, flavouring extracts with alcohol, non-white fish meat from species without scales or fins.

 



Young Travelers 

 

 

Child Meal

This meal may be ordered for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years. It contains one or more of these ingredients: chicken, fish, fries, pasta, chocolate, crisps, crackers, milk and dairy products, and fruit and fruit juices.

 

 

 

Baby Meal

BBML

 
 

A standard range of proprietary brands of baby meals may be available. However, parents are advised to carry food familiar to and preferred by their babies. Milk and meals can usually be heated on board, as required, by the cabin crew.

 

 

 

Medical and Dietary Meals

 

 

Bland Meals

For stomach or intestinal problems. Does not contain foods or beverages that cause gastric discomfort such as highly seasoned foods, black pepper, chili powder, cabbage, cauliflower or fried foods.

 

 

 

Diabetic Meal

Meal with increased complex carbohydrates, high fibre, low fat, no sugar added. Does not contain fried foods.

 

 

 

Gluten-Free Meal

GFML

 
 

Gluten-free meals are suitable for persons with celiac disease. Naturally gluten-free ingredients and wheat starch has been used.

 

 

 

Low-Calorie Oriental Meal

LCML

 
 

Meal with increased complex carbohydrates, high fibre, low fat. Does not contain fried foods, added fats, oils and sugar, gravies and sauces or rich desserts.

 

 

 

Low-Fat Meal

LFML

 
 

Increased complex carbohydrates, high fibre, fats high in unsaturated fatty acids, low dietary cholesterol, low in saturated fatty acids. Does not contain fried foods, sauces high in fat, egg yolks, offal, shellfish, fish roe and caviar, added fats and oils, alcohol-refined sugars, processed meals and cheeses.

 

 

 

Low-Salt Meal

LSML

 
 

No salt or salty foods added. Does not contain salt substitutes, stocks, bouillon cubes, commercial soups and sauce mixes, salted, smoked, cured or packaged foods, items in brine, processed cheeses, olives, anchovies, bakery products using self-rising flour or baking soda, most condiments, gravies, sauces and dressings, garlic, onion, celery salts or breads.

 

 

 

Low-Lactose Meal

NLML

 
 

Does not contain dairy products, such as milk, yoghurt, cheese, ice cream, sherbet, puddings, prepared mixes, creamed or breaded vegetables, bread prepared with dairy products, omelette, crepes, scrambled eggs with milk, cream or butter, creamed or breaded meat, fish or eggs, commercial soups, chocolate, toffee, butterscotch, caramels, sugar substitutes. Not suitable for cow milk allergic passengers.

 

 

 

Raw Meal

RVML
